UTMB HealthCare Systems (UTMB HCS) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Created in 1994, UTMB HealthCare Systems provides a number of services to UTMB, including managed care programs, clinical staffing placement, clinic management and leasing. Managed Care services, in particular, are provided through UTMB Health Plans, a licensed HMO available in Galveston County, Texas.
